Well, I'm sorry you're having so much trouble getting those photos transferred to the computer, and I'm sorry we couldn't be of more help! Good luck with tech support and keep us posted; I'd certainly like to know what's going on!

Tried with another 6120b, it will not connect either. Perhaps that model phone don't use USB or a firmware update is needed to use USB. Emailed Nokia tech support about it, will see.

Thanks for all the help. You all had been very nice.

If the computer, software, cable, and USB ports are all okay, the only thing that leaves is some type of issue with the phone itself. You may have to resort to buying a data plan for the phone for one month just so she can transfer the pictures. =/

Connected my Nokia 6085, Nokia Suite pick it up with no problem.
Tried it in both WinXP and Win7.
So the software is ok, cable ok, usb port ok.
    What else should I check?

Wow! I am just at a loss for what could be going on here. Have you tried using more than one USB port on the computer?

yeah, the one that came with the cd is probably your best bet.

It's strange that you are not getting an error in device manager, but windows is telling you that it's not recognized. When it says 'usb device not recognized' is there an option anywhere to install a driver? I think the driver you need is under C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver I'm just not sure why it didn't install in the first place.

When you installed Nokia Suite was the phone disconnected? Did you restart computer afterwords?

Tried with 2 different cables, one came with the phone, the other, I brought on the net, which came with Nokia Suite on a CD. Both of them has 4 contacts on the left side of the phone connector, the other end is standard USB. I would think the one came with the CD is for data.

    Thanks

Okay - are you sure you're using the right cable? It's possible that it is only pinned for charging.

Nokia Suited is installed under WinXP.
Popup on the task bar say "USB Device not recognized".

All is good in Device Manager, no yellow exclamation point any where.

What version of windows are you running?

While the phone is plugged in - On your computer, if you go to control panel > device manager is there anything with a yellow exclamation point under usb devices?

I posted a reply last nite. It is not here, not sure what happened to it.
Anyway, I am posting it again. This old man is kinda technologically handicapped, please bear with me.

The phone is still in service with AT&T, but she has a no data plan, sending the pictures as multimedia is not possible unless she upgrade her plan. A last resort I suppose.

Nokia Suite is installed on the computer. It does not see the phone because the computer does not recognize the phone as an USB device. Downloaded a manual for 6120 classic, it states that under "settings"/"connectivity" the phone can be configured to use USB. However that option there in her 6120b phone.

I think if I can get that USB setting into her phone, the computer may be able to talk to the phone.

    Thanks

If you don't have it in service anymore, try downloading Nokia Suite: http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/...taller_ALL.exe

And then plugging it into your computer.

Is the phone still in service? Could you send the pictures as multimedia messages to an email address? That's how I transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer most of the time. If not, MetroPCS used to offer photo transferring services from one phone to another. I think they charged for it, but it's well worth than $10 or so to have those photos. Once she has the photos on her current phone, it might be easier to transfer them to the computer.

Wife has a Nokia 6120b phone from Cingular. It appears to be a limited production.
Had not been able to find much info on it.
She has some pictures on the phone she would like to save to computer. The phone came with a USB adapter cable for data transfer. When connected, the computer does not recognize the phone as a USB device. Looked under "setting, connectivity" in the phone, only infra red and data packets are listed. No way to set it to USB mode. Why does it come with the USB cable?

Anyone knows how to transfer the pictures please help.
She only need to do this one time.

    Thanks
