That means the status of the battery is unknown. In other words, the phone can't tell how much charge it has left. If the phone isn't staying on then the battery doesn't have enough juice to keep the phone on.

Either something is wrong with the battery or it is an aftermarket battery that isn't quite right for the phone.

Vivid phone wont turn on. I have a battery icon that is green with a Red exclamation point. I have put a new battery in it.
