You can copy the documents, files, pictures, music, videos as well as other files from your smartphone to your computer and vice versa, and you can also use your BlackBerry Z10 to keep the files and documents synced between your smartphone and computer with the help of BlackBerry Link.

Transferring files between your computer and BlackBerry Z10 via USB

    1. Connect your BlackBerry Z10 to your computer via the USB cable.
    2. In case you have a password set up, you need to enter it at this point. Your BlackBerry will appear as a drive on your computer.
    3. Go to the files that you’d like to transfer.
    4. And then simply drop the files or folders to the desired locations.

Transferring files between your computer and your BlackBerry Z10 using a Wi-Fi connection

Note: Each time you turn on the access to storage using a Wi-Fi connection, you must set up a new storage access password, which will be required before your files and moved over the Wi-Fi network.

    1. From the Home screen of your BlackBerry Z10, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2. Then tap Settings -> Tap About.
    3. Tap Network, located at the top of the screen and make note of the IPv4 address.
    4. Then tap the Back key and select Storage and Access.
    5. Enter a storage access password.
    6. Tap Identification on Network -> make note of your Username.
    7. Then go to your computer, where you can do one of the following:

    • For Windows users -> in a Run command enter the IP address by using the next format: \\xx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
    • For Mac users -> clock Go -> then select Connect to Server and enter the IP address using the next format: smb://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

    8. Now you can go to the files that you’d like to copy and enter the storage access password that you set up earlier when prompted.
    9. After that you just need to drag and drop the desired files and folders.

    Turning on USB mass storage

USB mass storage is a faster way to transfer your files.

    1. From the Home screen of your BlackBerry Z10, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2. Then tap Settings -> tap Storage and Access.
    3. Turn the USB Mass Storage switch to ON.
    4. If you no longer want to use USB mass storage, then simply disconnect the USB cable.
