Glad to have helped. Sounds like you were stuck in a boot cycle

Many problems can be cured by boot into recovery and perform cache wipe:
Power the phone down once it is off all the way press and hold volume up home and power all at the same until Samsung flashes on the screen then release all buttons. This will bring you into recovery. You will then want to navigate to wipe cache or clear cache and select it. Reboot.

Oh....it's a model SGH-1747M if this makes any difference.

You would just get a new sim from a carrier under your name. You can probably toss the existing sim. If you get a sim that is not for Rogers (what that model of S III is designated for) then you may need to get the phone unlocked.

Thanks. Another question for you: is it possible to reflash a SIM card, and if so, how is it done? This is a nano SIM card, by the way.

Oh, and I was wrong about this phone not having a SIM card. I didn't notice it because it was so small, not like my other cell's card which is normal size. I was looking at the SD card slot by mistake.
