My expereince with Assurion has been a nightmare.

After I lost an iPhone 4 during a business trip, I was told I would receive a response via email or telephone within 24 hours. THREE DAYS later, NO ONE had contacted me! I made 5 attempts but received no response beyond, "Our Systems Are Down".

Day Four: I paid for Saturday deliver - an extra charge. The phone was not shipped on Friday, after I sat at home all day on Saturday waiting for it. When I finally reached someone, they told me there was nothing they could do, and had no idea why my phone was not shipped.

I missed a day at work the follwoing Monday, because Assurion required someone be at home to sign for the new iPhone (saying this was an Iphone policy)....I wasn't home when I recieved the first iPhone!

Day Seven: Someone called saying she was from the CEO's office asking if my new phone was working properly. I asked who I could voice concerns towards. She said, that would be me. When I explained my frustration, the response recived was, "But that is not why I am calling".

TERRIABLE service, HIGH fees. You're better off paying for the upgrade out of your pocket...TRUST ME...NOT Assurion !

    monkeys!
it used to be people could use & abuse the Equipment Protection Program (not I) in order to get a newer model phone or replace their beater, but now that's no more.

I got a flyer as soon as the program changed, and all of the deductibles seem to have increased, even for the standard dumbphones. rarr.

I don't know if any of you are paying for the cell phone insurance offered by Assurion but you might want to reconsider....Here's what just happened to me
I very absent mindedly put my cell in the windshield wiper pocket on the hood of my car. I had finished a call and was pumping gas. Stupid oh well live and learn
Needless to say, I was going up an entrance ramp onto the freeway and saw my Blackberry take flight...a horrible feeling! I got to my office and immediately called Assurion. I was not happy when I found out that I was going to have to pay more for a replacement than I originally paid at the beginning of my contract but I guess that's the price I had to pay for being so careless. They said they were shipping a new phone out over night. I got the phone 3 days later and finally got it set up and working. I travel a lot and that is why I have a blackberry. I immediately went out of town on business and noticed that the phone would decide to turn itself off every now and then. Being extremely busy and in and out of town, I just put up with it until today when it went out and would not turn back on. It was fully charged and when I put it on the charger, it was turning itself on and off. I called my carrier and they informed me I had to deal with Assurion since it has only been 2 months. I called Assurion and they had me run through the normal checks...battery in battery out etc. Then he said shake it for 10 seconds. I did so...just as I finished it went out. The representative informed me that I must have damaged the phone and would have to pay an additional deductible to get it replaced and or repaired. Mind you, the phone has been in a hard case that completely covers the phone since I got it and there is not a mark on it. I asked him over and over again to speak with a supervisor and he would not connect me with one and would not alter his stance. Mind you his said that his opinion was that the battery wasn't making contact...even though it was fully charged etc.

All I know is that I have paid for the insurance for my blackberry and my husbands blackberry for two and a half years and for other phones for over 10 years and this is the service I get from them...not worth it. I could have pocketed that money and bought the upgraded blackberry for less! I would love to hear from others that have had similar experiences.
