I would go with an Android phone since there is much more of a selection where with the iPhone there are only a phone of them to choose from and there is only one considered "current" when there are a lot of Android phones that are current and up to date.

I have an iPhone 5, but honestly I only love it for its looks and how smooth it is when using apps. I also have an Android phone and even if the spec is high, playing apps is laggy. Maybe because the apps are not optimized for a particular model, unlike the iPhone.

I can't think of anything than an iPhone can do that an Android cannot. So I must say depends on the user.

I don't personally care for Apple products because I don't like how controlling Apple is with their stuff. You can't make it your own and you can only use their stuff. It is expensive and it isn't that much better than anything else.

I love iPhone but the iPhone 5 is not good enough since I already have the 4S. I don't see a huge improvement from my 4S. My friends suggest for me to get the HTC instead. I would try a different brand if you have already tried the iphone as mentioned above. How about the S4? It's one of the most highly anticipated phones this year so it maybe good. Although I would wait for more reviews first before getting one. Maybe you can wait for the iPhone 5S/6 . If they have major developments from the iPhone 5, it's worth considering!

It would be a good idea to try it out, as mentioned above.

I prefer Android phones. Since Android phones are getting cheaper, you can get one without a contract on a prepaid provider and save money on your monthly plan.

If you have the earlier version of the iPhone, like a 4S, you wouldn't really see much difference. Well, the camera is a lot nicer on the iphone 5 compared to its predecessors but other than that, it's not really a huge upgrade. If you haven't had an iphone before, then having one is a great experience. If you like simplicity that works seamlessly go for the iPhone. Especially that your friends have the iphone too, you may like the iMessage feature. You can't customize the iphone too much though so if you like to personalize your phone, you may want to look into other brands. I only have the 4S, but I played with the iPhone 5 a lot before I made the decision of getting the Samsung Galaxy Note II instead, and I believe I made the right decision because I am loving it everyday. It really depends on your preference.

Avenger, have you used one? I have played around with it in the local Verizon store, but I guess I am just not seeing what is so much better in comparison with other phones I have seen. Everyone I know that has one love sit though. They can't seem to tell me why though. I guess I just want to know why it's so "awesome".

I would recommend you try one out in a local store. It all depends on what you want in a phone and how you plan on using it.

I have an upgrade available right now and I don't know what to get. I can get an iPhone free but I don't really know what is so great about the iPhone. Can someone give me a reason why I should or shouldn't get one?
