With Android phones, I believe you're supposed to reset the battery statistics when putting in a new battery. I don't know if it's similar with basic phones. I know you probably don't have that option on your phone, but you can try resetting it. Just keep in mind you will probably lose everything on the phone, such as text messages, pictures, contacts, etc. The reset might work, but it might not.

You can go to Settings, General, Master Reset, and Reset All, if you'd like to reset the phone.

Any body help me, i have a set of sony ericson w200i. Its problem is against charging, during the charging it shows that battery is charged but after some time it will goes to battery low.
I purchased a new battery but problem still persist. Anyone please help me.
