    Hi Yugandharbabu,

Measuring performance between two iOS and Android smartphones is a bit tricky.

To begin with, the iPhone 5 is able to be quite powerful with not so great hardware specs (when compared with the latest Android smartphones). A dual-core 1.2 GHz processor on an Android smartphone would theoretically do a worse job than the dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU fitted on the iPhone 5 and iOS does.

However, technically speaking, and looking at some Geekbench benchmark scores, the Sony Xperia Z is more powerful than the iPhone 5. The Apple flagship scores roughly 1660 points, whereas the Xperia Z scores 2000-2100 points. (Geekbench handles CPU and memory tests).

Hardware-wise, the Sony Xperia Z has a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor running at 1.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, whereas the iPhone 5 has a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and 1 GB of RAM.

To put it simply, technically and based on synthetic benchmarks, the Sony Xperia Z is more powerful than the iPhone 5, so I don't think you need to worry about performances on the Xperia Z. After all, the Snapdragon S4 Pro is probably the best CPU of year 2012 (late), and it's only been outperformed by the newer Snapdragon series and Samsung's octa-core as far as I know (both being 2013 CPUs)

So leaving performances aside, you also have to ask yourself what do you want from a smartphone. Do you like customization options such as live wallpapers, widgets etc? If so, then you won't have any of that on iOS/iPhone 5. What you'll get on iOS is a huge database of apps and a fast, easy to use operating system. (that's not to say that the Play Store is not rich in apps, or that Android is not easy to use. It's not rocket science.)

As far as build quality goes, you can't go wrong with either one. But the Xpeira Z is also dust and waterproof, which is something that you won't get on the iPhone 5.

Lastly, if this matters to you, the iPhone 5 has a smaller display and a lower resolution (4 inches in diagonal @ 640 x 1136), whereas the Xperia z packs a 5 inch display with a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920.

In the end, it's up to you. But don't worry about performances on the Z. It's no dud!

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
