Depending on your phone's various settings, you may experience fast battery drain in certain situations. If you're having issues with battery life on the Sprint Vital, or simply if you're on the go and wish to conserve the battery, then here are some tips and tricks on how to do just that.

Reducing Backlight Brightness and Backlight Timeout:

    1. Tap the "Menu" button while on the home screen
    2. Select "System settings"
    3. Tap "Display" > "Brightness"
    4. Check the "Automatic brightness" option. Optionally, you can uncheck the option and drag the slider to the left manually, in order to reduce display brightness even further. Press "OK" when ready
    5. Tap "Sleep" in the display options panel
    6. Select a lower timeout setting
    7. Press the "Home" button on your device to return to the home screen

    Disabling Live Wallpapers:

    1. While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" button
    2. Select "Wallpaper"
    3. Tap the desired option (except of course for "Live Wallpapers")
    4. Scroll left and/or right to reach the desired images and press "Set wallpaper"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Mobile Hotspot:

Disable all of the aforementioned options while not using them. This can greatly increase battery life.

    1. Tap the "Menu" button on your device, while on the home screen
    2. Select "System settings"
    3. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" switches to bring them in the "OFF" position.
    4. If necessary, tap the "Portable hotspot" switch to bring it in the "OFF" position

    Disabling GPS:

Leaving GPS enabled when not in use is one of the main battery drainers for a smartphone! To disable it:

    1. On the home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Select "System settings" and tap "Location services"
    3. Uncheck the "GPS satellites" option
    4. Tap the "Back" key to return to the settings menu

Stopping Unused Applications and Running Services:

    1. While in the "System settings" menu, tap "Apps"
    2. Swipe left or right to reach the "Running" tab
    3. Select the service or application that you wish to close
    4. In the menu that appears, tap "Force stop" then press "OK" to confirm

    Disabling Haptic Feedback (Vibrations):

    1. On the home screen, tap the "Menu" button
    2. Select "System settings" and go to "Sound"
    3. Uncheck the "Vibrate when ringing" option
    4. Scroll down the sound settings page and uncheck the "Vibrate on touch" option

Reducing the Amount of Downloaded Data and Synced Information:

    1. Access the "System settings" menu
    2. Under "Accounts" tap the desired account type (for instance, Google)
    3. Select an account
    4. Uncheck the desired options, then tap the "Home" button when finished
