    Using Smart Scroll

Smart scroll is a really neat feature that uses the front camera to scrolls through, web pages, messages, etc, by sensing when you’re looking at your device. The feature is based on the orientation of your head in relation to the camera of your smartphone or in relation to your face using the front camera of your Galaxy S4 Active. To activate Smart scroll, follow the next steps:

    1. Go to the Home screen and press the Menu key.
    2. Then tap Settings- > tap My device -> tap Smart screen and turn the Smart scroll slider to ON.
    3. Tap Smart scroll and select the desired option. You can choose from:

      • Tilting head – by enabling this option, smart scroll is based on the orientation of your head in relation to your smartphone.
      • Tilting device – smart scroll is based on the orientation of your Galaxy S4 Active in relation to your face using the front-facing camera.
      • You can also adjust the scrolling speed by tapping Speed or enable or disable a visual feedback icon when using smart scroll by marking the Visual Feedback display checkbox.

Note: Smart scroll may not work if the front-facing camera cannot detect your eyes and face, if the light source is behind you or your smartphone is in the dark, the front-facing camera is used in an app, but also when you’re using other gestures (such as Air View) or when you have multiple windows open.

Assigning a Ringtone or Vibration Pattern to a Contact

    1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
    2. Then tap the contact you want to assign a specific ringtone to.
    3. Then under Ringtone, tap Default -> tap Add and located the desired ringtone.
    4. To assign a specific vibration pattern, open the desired contact -> under Vibration pattern, tap Default to assign a new pattern or tap Create to create a personalized vibration pattern.

Using a Music File (MP3) as a Ringtone

    1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
    2. Then tap Settings -> tap My device -> tap Sound -> tap Ringtones -> tap Add (it's located at the bottom of the screen).
    3. Tap Sound picker and select the file you would like to set up as ringtone.
    4. Set the entire song as ringtone or tap Auto recommendations to play the best part of the song.
    5. When finished, tap OK.
    6. Your ringtone is now set.

Increasing Ringing Volume in Your Purse or Pocket

    1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
    2. Then press the Menu key -> tap Call Settings -> tap Increase volume in pocket.
    3. Your Galaxy S4 Active will automatically increase the ringtone volume when you’re placing it in your purse or pocket.

Changing the Font Size and Style

    1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
    2. Then tap Settings -> tap My device -> tap Display -> tap Font style and select the desired font style. You have the Default font, Cool jazz, Rosemary, Choco cooky or Samsung Sans fonts available.
    3. You can also tap Get fonts online to go to the Play Store and download new ones right away.
    4. To adjust the Font Size, select the desired font size by tapping Tiny, Huge, etc.
