VZ Navigator

Navigating to a Location with VZ Navigator:

1. While on the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
2. Scroll to and tap "VZ Navigator"
3. Tap "Go To" and select "Enter an Address"
4. Type in the desired destination address and then press the "Search" icon. (Optionally, you can tap the microphone icon and use voice-to-text to enter the address)
5. In the list of results, select the desired location
6. Press the "Options" icon located at the bottom-right corner of the display.
7. Select the desired option, such as avoiding "Highways" or "Toll Roads" etc.
8. Press "Save"
9. Tap the green "Go!" button to get your route on-screen

Note: To exit navigation mode, tap the "Back" key on your device

Searching a Destination By Category:

1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen and open "VZ Navigator"
2. Select "Go To"
3. Tap "Find a Place" and select the desired category, such as "Gas Stations", "Shopping", "Emergency" etc.
4. Select the desired location from the list and tap "Go!" to get the route on-screen. Optionally, before you press "Go!" you can tap the "Options" icon and select routes that you wish to avoid

Setting a VZ Navigator Speed Limit Alert:

1. Access the "VZ Navigator" application
2. While on the VZ Navigator main screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
3. Select "Preferences" > "Navigation"
4. Tap "Speed Limits" and tap "Speed Limit Sign"
5. Under "Speed Alert", check the "Warning Sound" option
6. Tap "Warning Speed" and select the desired warning speed
7. Under "School Zone Alert" check the "Warning Sound" option

Note: To Exit the "VZ Navigator" app, go to the app's home screen and tap the "Menu" button on your device. Select "More" and tap "Exit"

Google Maps

Using Turn-by-Turn Navigation:

1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
2. Find and select "Maps"
3. Tap the "Maps" dropdown menu located at the top-left corner of the display
4. Select "Navigation" and either tap "Speak destination" to use text-to-speech, or select "Type destination" to type-in the desired address
5. In the "Complete action using" pop-up menu, select "Navigation"
6. Press "Follow the route" to enable navigation.

Tip: You can use pinch and spread gestures on-screen in order to zoom in or out.

Search Locally on Google Maps:

1. Go to the "Apps drawer" and open "Maps"
2. In the main menu, tap the "Maps" dropdown menu
3. Select "Local"
4. Tap the desired category, such as "Restaurants", "Cafes" etc.
5. You can apply certain filters such as "Price" or "Rating". Choose a filter, select an option and tap "Apply"
6. Browse through the list and select the desired destination

Google Maps Tip: To add a layer in maps, access the application and tap the "Layers" icon located at the bottom-right corner of the display. Then select the desired layer.
