    Changing the Wallpaper

    Note: You can only change the Lock screen of your HTC 8XT

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Then scroll to and touch Settings -> touch lock screen -> tap choose background -> select the desired image location (choose from photo, Bing or HTC) -> select the desired album and then tap the photo that you wish to add as lock screen wallpaper.
    3. Tap the checkmark icon to select the desired photo.
    4. Your wallpaper is now successfully changed.

    Changing the Active Theme

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Then scroll to and touch Settings -> touch theme -> touch Background and select the desired option (you can switch between a dark or a light background).
    3. If you also want to change the tile colors, tap Accent color -> select the accent color that you like best and touch the Start key.

    Adding a New Tile

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Tap and hold the app that you would like to add to the Start screen.

      Note: You can also add contacts, games, notes or bookmarks to the Start screen.
    3. Then tap pin to start.
    4. The tile is now added to your Start screen

    Moving a Tile

    1. From the Start screen, tap and hold the tile that you wish to move.
    2. Then drag the desired tile to a new location on the screen.
    3. To place the tile to the desired location, simply tap the center of the tile.

    Note: If you wish to remain in the editing mode, tap a different tile.
    Removing a Tile

    1. Touch and hold the tile that you wish to remove.
    2. Then tap the Unpin icon located in the upper right corner of the tile.
    3. The tile will then be removed.

    Changing the Tile Size

    1. From the Start screen, touch and hold the tile that you wish to change.
    2. Then touch the Resize icon. The tile will toggle between different sizes -> select the one that you like best.
    3. When satisfied with a certain size, touch the Start key or touch the center of the tile.

    Changing the Ringtone

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Then tap Settings > ringtones + sounds and tap the Ringtone box.
    3. To listen to a ringtone, tap the play icon beside its name.
    4. If you want to use a particular ringtone, simply tap it.

    Add Custom Ringtones to Your Phone

    Using an USB cable, you can easily copy your ringtone collection from your PC to your HTC 8XT.

    1. Connect your HTC 8XT to the computer using an USB cable.
    2. Then, on your computer, go to the Ringtones folder of the phone storage -> copy your custom ringtones to this folder.
    3. When finished, disconnect your smartphone from the computer.
    4. Then from the HTC 8XT’s Start screen, slide to the left.
    5. Tap Settings > ringtones + sounds.
    6. Tap the Ringtone box, and under Custom, tap the custom ringtone you would like to use.

    Changing the Screen Settings

    1. From the Start screen, slide to the left.
    2. Then tap Settings.
    3. To change the backlight time-out period, tap lock screen -> touch Screen times out after -> tap the desired setting (choose from 30 seconds, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, etc) -> then tap the Back key.
    4. If you wish to change the brightness level of the backlight, tap brightness -> to turn automatic brightness on or off, tap the Automatically adjust toggle.
    5. When Automatically adjust is Off, tap the Level field -> then tap the desired level (choose from low, medium or high).
    6. The backlight settings have been successfully changed.
