Your HTC 8XT is a great way to entertain your kids as well as prevent accidental calls while your children play with the device.
Using Kid's Corner, you can also limit their access to your games, music, videos, as well as the apps on your phone.

    Setting Up Kid's Corner

    1. From the Start screen, slide to the left.
    2. Tap Settings > then tap kid's corner.
    3. Tap next.
    4. Select the content your kids can access when your smartphone is in Kid's Corner mode.
    5. Tap next -> tap set password or skip. It’s recommended to set up a password in order to add an extra layer of security when returning from Kid's Corner.
    6. When done, tap finish. Then you will see the Kid's Corner lock screen.
    7. To view the Kid's Corner screen, drag the lock screen up
    8. To name your Kid's Corner screen, tap Customize.
    9. Then choose a Kid's Corner lock screen picture, and more.

    Launching Kid's Corner

Note: You will be able to receive calls as well as text messages even when your smartphone is in Kid's Corner mode.

    1. If your device is powered on, briefly press the Power button to turn the display off and then switch the smartphone to Sleep mode.
    2. Now you have to press the Power button briefly again to wake your phone up.
    3. To view the Kid's Corner lock screen, slide to the left of the lock screen.
    4. Then swipe your finger up the lock screen -> you can now let your children play with your HTC 8XT

Tip: Another way to launch Kid's Corner is to go to the Start screen (if you've pinned it) and tap the Kid's Corner tile -> touch launch kid's corner -> then swipe your finger up the Kid's Corner lock screen.

    Closing or Disabling Kid's Corner

You can close or disable Kid's Corner at any time if you no longer wish to use it.

    1. Go to the Kid's Corner screen and briefly press the Power button to turn off the display and switch the device to Sleep mode.
    2. Then press the Power button briefly one more time to wake your phone up.
    3. Swipe your finger up the lock screen.
    4. If there’s a password set up for Kid’s Corner, enter the password.
    5. Kid's Corner will then close and you'll be taken back to the Start screen.
    6. Now, to disable Kid’s Corner, from the Start screen and slide to the left.
    7. Tap Settings > tap kid's corner.
    8. Tap the On/Off switch to disable Kid's Corner.
