Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. While on the home screen, select "Menu"
    2. Go to "Settings" and select "Phone settings" > "Display" > "Brightness"
    3. Scroll left to lower the screen brightness. Select "Save" after reached the desired level
    4. Press "Back" and then select "Backlight"
    5. Select "Screen" and set a lower setting

    Turning Off Bluetooth and GPS:

Bluetooth and GPS are usually the main battery drainers if left enabled. When not in use, it's highly recommended that you disable these features. To do so:

    1. While viewing the home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Select "Tools" and go to "Bluetooth"
    3. Select "Power". Make sure that "Deactivated" appears on the screen
    4. Select "Back" twice
    5. Go to "Settings" and press "GPS Settings"
    6. Navigate to the "Receiver" field and then scroll the GPS slider in the "Off" position
    7. Select "OK" to confirm

Toggling Between 3G and 2G Connectivity:

    1. From the home screen, select "Menu"
    2. Select "Settings"
    3. Go to "Network Settings"
    4. Select "Service Selection"
    5. Choose either "GSM" (2G) or "WCDMA" (3G). Note that 2G uses less battery than the alternative, but it is also slower

Updating to the Latest Software Version:

Note: following this guide will not offer you better battery life, unless a new software update that addresses any possible battery issues has been released. To check for software updates:

    1. While on the home screen, go to "Menu"
    2. Select "Settings"
    3. Press "System Update"
    4. Select "Check Software Updates". If an update is available for download, follow the on-screen prompts in order to apply it
