    Adding a New Contact

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then, from the all contacts list, tap the plus sign (+) .
    3. In case there’s more than a single account set up on your HTC 8XT, tap the account you want to create the contact in.
    4. Edit each item (name, phone, email) as desired.
    5. Then tap the Save icon to save the changes. .
    6. If you also wish to assign a picture to the contact, tap add photo.
    7. When finished, tap the Save icon to save the new contact.

    Deleting an Entry

    Note: You can delete contacts from pretty much any service, except Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. Whenever you decide a contact, that contact will be deleted from the phone’s memory as well as the online service where it’s stored.

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then from the all contacts list, tap the desired contact.
    3. Tap the More icon.
    4. Tap delete.
    5. In case the contact is a linked contact, select the account you wish to remove it from.

    Tip: Another way to delete a contact is by tapping and holding it -> then tapping delete
    Merging People Profiles

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. In the all contacts list, tap the contact that has one (or more) duplicate entries.
    3. Then tap the Link icon and do one of the following options:
      • Under suggested links, tap the contact that you wish to link.
      • Tap choose a contact -> tap the one that's a duplicate entry

    Unlinking People Profiles

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then from the all contacts list, tap the contact that has linked profiles.
    3. Tap the link icon which shows the number of links .
    4. Finally, under linked profiles, tap the contact that you wish to unlink -> tap unlink.

    Creating a Group

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then, from the together screen, tap the plus sign (+).
    3. Tap Group.
    4. Name your group and tap the Save icon..
    5. Then tap the plus sign -> choose the desired contact.
    6. Repeat the same process to add more contacts to the group.
    7. When finished, tap the Checkmark icon.

    Sending a Message or Email to a Group

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then, from the together screen, tap the group you want to message or email -> tap text or send email.
    3. Now you just need to follow the on-screen prompts to complete to send the group message or group mail.

    Rearranging Group Tiles

    1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
    2. Then, from the together screen, tap the group you wish to change.
    3. Tap and hold a contact until the tile floats and then drag the tile to a new location.
    4. When finished, tap the Back key.

    Editing a Contact Group

    1. From the Start screen, touch the People tile.
    2. Then. while on the together screen, tap the group you wish to edit and select one of the following options:
      • To add more members to the group, tap People -> tap the plus sign icon.
      • If you wish to pin the group to the Start screen -> tap the Pin icon.
      • To change the name of your group, tap the More icon -> then tap rename.
      • If you want to remove a contact from a group, tap the People icon -> tap remove from group.
      • To delete the group, tap the More icon -> then tap delete -> tap delete once more.
