One person said they had a bad experience with it. I'm not sure of anything specific. I found positive and negative reviews around the internet. The problem with reviews is that they might be from people who have only had the phone for a week. If I get a review from someone who said they owned the phone for 6 months and had a lot of problems with it, I'm more inclined to believe them.

Nevermind about the 4g. I guess VM does off it. (they didn't used to) I suspect that the coverage is going to be spotty though.

That is very helpful. Thank you.

What do you mean I wouldn't get the full 4g?

I'm also considering the S2, since it's cheaper than the SIII, and I really would like the bigger screen; but somebody told me that it's kind of a messed up phone. Not sure if that's true.

FYI, Amazon sells it new and has a couple 'warehouse' deals that are listed as used as well: Amazon.com: Samsung Galaxy Reverb (Virgin Mobile): Cell Phones & Accessories

I am looking for a new phone. I checked out t_mobile no-contract phones, but they are all way more expensive than virgin mobile phones. I told the sales associate how much the s3 is with virgin mobile, and she was at a loss for words. It's like these carriers depend on ignorance about the better pricing that is out there.

So I've pretty much decided on virgin mobile unless there is a good reason to go with something else.

As for the phone, I'm looking at either the Samsung Galaxy Reverb or the Samsung Galaxy s3. Obviously the Galaxy s3 is better, but it would be $330, vs the $100 Reverb. I'm a poor college student, so I don't want to pay for features I wouldn't be using.

What I would use most: Talking, Texting, note-taking, Google searches, e-books, netflix, and youtube

In order to decide, I would need to know the following:

    • if the limited 4g is worth it
    • if the battery is much better on the s3
    • if the bigger ROM/RAM on the s3 would make a big difference
    • If the HD display makes a big difference

    Specs comparison:

    S3 -- Reverb

    • $330 -- $100
    • 1.5 Dual Core Processor -- 1.4 Single Core Processor
    • 4.8" Screen with HD -- 4.0" without HD
    • 8MP Camera -- 5MP Camera
    • 4g LTE -- 3g
    • 16GB Rom -- 4GB Rom
    • 2GB RAM -- 0.7GB Ram

    Which phone would you suggest?
