Did you find a solution? I am having the same problem with my Samsung Note 1.
    Phone data:
    Samsung Note 1
    Model: GT-N7000
    Android Version: 4.1.2
    Kernel version: 3.0.31-906407

    Problem:
    - Phone will not send text messages in Chinese characters. It receives messages in Chinese fine.
    - I have loaded Google pinyin input so the Chinese character shows up in the text message screen, but they will not display correctly on the receiving phone (any phone we tested and all these phones are from China and use Chinese normally).
    - I tried copying a Chinese message and pasting it, but any phone that receives the message will not display the Chinese message (it only shows question marks)

    Dear all!

My name is LUCK. I am new to Samsung Phone. Now I bought Samsung Galaxy Note Lte (Model SHV-E160L) phone. I want to write Chinese Messages in my messages, but I can't write it because I don't have DioPen Chinese IME program on my phone. I used to download other programs to install in my Samsung Galaxy Note (Model SHV-E160L). I can install it and write Chinese Messages by using those programs. Those programs are Google Pinyin IME, TouchPal PinYin(Bi Hua)Pack, QQ Pinyin, and Sogou Pinyin. Though I can write Chinese Messages in my Samsung Galaxy Note (Model SHV-E160L), the receiver of my Chinese Messages can't read all my Chinese Words sent to the receiver because the text is error and be sure that the phone of the receiver also can read Chinese too. For example, I write 我们不明白 and then I send to the receiver. The receiver can read only 我?不明白, so the word "们" is error. Be sure I was writing Chinese by using Google Pinyin IME, TouchPal PinYin(Bi Hua)Pack, QQ Pinyin, and Sogou Pinyin and send to the receiver. The receiver can read only 我?不明白. In my view, I think DioPen Chinese IME is probably available for fixing the error of Chinese Words when I send messages to the receiver. It's the reason why I want to install DioPen Chinese IME in my Samsung Galaxy Note Lte (Model SHV-E160L) phone. Or do you have any programs that can let me install Chinese Keyboards to fix the error of Chinese Words? Thanks a lot and best wishes to all of you!

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

    My best regards,

    LUCK
