    Data Connection Management

Enabling / Disabling the Data Connection:

    1. Using two fingers, swipe the status bar down to access the "Quick Settings" panel
    2. Tap the "Mobile data" tile to enable or disable the feature. (NOTE: a white tile means data connectivity is disabled, whereas blue means data is enabled)

    Adding a New Access Point:

You can add a new access point name when roaming or in case you have difficulty obtaining a data connection. Before you do so, you need to have the access point name and settings from your mobile operator ready.

    1. Swipe the status bar down using two fingers
    2. Make sure that "Mobile data" is enabled
    3. Press the "" button associated with the Mobile data tile
    4. Tap "Access point names"
    5. Tap the "Menu" icon depicting three vertical dots, and tap "New APN"
    6. Enter the APN settings
    7. Tap "Menu" and then tap "Save"
    8. Select the new APN on the APN screen

    Managing Data Usage

    Enabling / Disabling Data Roaming:

WARNING! Using data services while roaming may result in extra charges on your carrier agreement.

    1. Swipe down from the status bar using two fingers
    2. Make sure that Mobile data is enabled. If necessary, tap the "Mobile data" tile to enable this feature
    3. Tap the "" button to open the mobile network settings screen
    4. Mark or unmark the "Data roaming" check box, to enable or disable data roaming

Keeping Track of Data Usage and Setting a Data Limit:

If you wish to prevent being charged extra for exceeding your data allowance, you can easily set a data limit on the HTC One max by following the steps below. NOTE: the method of measuring data used by your phone, differs from the method used by the carrier. As such, values might vary, and it's recommended that you set a lower value than your actual allowance.

    1. Swipe the status bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the "Settings" icon
    3. Under "Wireless & networks", tap "More"
    4. Tap "Usage"
    5. To add a data usage limit, select "Limit mobile data usage" while on the "Mobile" tab, and tap "OK"
    6. Drag the "Limit" line (the one above, with the red dot) and drag it to the desired value. Once this limit is reached, your phone will automatically disable data connectivity
    7. Tap "Alert me about data usage" to add an alert, and drag the lower "Alert" line (featuring a blue dot) to set a monthly data limit. Once this value is reached, your phone will notify you
    8. Tap "Reset data usage" and set the day of the month when your usage cycle resets. Usually, this date should be set at the start of your monthly billing cycle

    Viewing Data Usage of Applications:

    1. Access the "Settings" menu by dragging the status bar down using two fingers and tapping "Settings"
    2. Tap "Usage"
    3. On the "Mobile" tab, drag the vertical graph lines to select the desired time frame
    4. Scroll down and view the list of applications, listed from the one that used most data, to the lowest
    5. Tap an app to view detailed information about usage

    Tips for Managing Data Usage:

If you're on a limited data allowance, it's a good idea to keep track of your activities in order to prevent extra charges. Keep in mind that some activities require more data than others, so try connecting to a Wi-Fi network before doing the following:

    • Downloading and updating apps
    • Playing online games
    • Listening to Internet radio
    • Streaming web videos and music
    • Uploading and backing up files to online storage accounts
