Thanks. I reinstalled HTC sync manager, which I had previously deleted (horrendously prone to freezing and unclear functionality), and lo and behold SM has an option to save to the external SD card. I transferred a playlist to the SD card, and it played with no issues. The program still sucks and I will check out these other two you suggested, but I have at least one option.

Yeah, this is the premium version which includes airsync.

Unfortunately I think the only solution in your case is to wait for winamp to add the feature or do the swapping of mount points.

You might also want to try some other free apps like

Thanks and that is the premium version of doubletwist that you paid for, not airsync, another product of theirs, right?

I called Sprint, although clearly the issue was far too above the woman's capacity ("have you tried to google or youtube it?"). I called HTC, and the guy seemed pretty competent, although he could not figure out a solution other than finding an app with the settings capability.

I use doubletwist, but it's not free. It's a really good app though and a great replacement for itunes. There is a setting to store music and podcasts and on the sd card:

I use winamp wirelessly to transfer music (the wireless transfer is a nice feature in the winamp btw), but that automatically goes to internal storage. I can use my cord to transfer with winamp to the external SD, but playlists do not show up right. I can transfer just through windows explorer methods with the phone mounted as a drive, although cannot transfer playlists that way. Any app suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Alex - what program are you using for music? Maybe there's a setting to use the sd card?

The only other way to do this is to root the phone and swap mount points, which is a bit complicated.

I am trying to figure out how to use my external SD card as default storage for my HTC EVO 4G LTE, for music specifically. I have looked through other forums, but have not been able to figure it out. I have a nice 32 gb micro SD card, and music still automatically syncs to the internal 10 gb storage. Thanks. - Alex
