    Yes, you did.

I would like to disable permissions that are included with the install of most Google applications.

It you go to settings > application manager > swype > permissions you should be able to see what the app is doing. If anything the app probably sends non-identifiable debug information to the developers.

I think I answered your question about GPS in the other thread you created.

    Tavenger-thank you for your replies-

I did not read the "permissions" on the SWYPE installed on my Galaxy S2 when I obtained the phone 18 months ago because SWYPE was already pre-installed.

What information does SWYPE send to the developer when I use it?

Where might I read the "permissions" about the SWYPE that was pre-installed on my T-Mobile phone Galaxy S2?.

I read the free Google SMS text app caveat that stated that a user of that app consents to the recording of text and transmittal to Google!

I try to install as few GAPPS as possible because each app denotes "permissions" which capture or change phone data-so "free" is never really "free"-the "free" GAPPS do come with a cost!

I want to know if there is any way to disable/halt the "always on" GPS feature of my phone-other than removing the battery or storing the phone in a faraday cage pouch.

The GAPPS available for our Android phones amount to surveillance and/or tracking/monitoring/recording of personal data, in my opinion.

Any reply to my many questions in the post are greatly appreciated!

    Thank you again Tavenger.

I'd be happy to get the SWYPE "lite version" for 4.2.1. I have only seen the PAID version in the PlayStore. Is there some other way to obtain the Lite SWYPE for Andriod 4.2.1?

    Thank you.
Actually, I was slightly off. The version offered on other devices was a beta version.

You can try this: Anyone have swype .apk? - xda-developers

But I don't know if it'll work on your device. If it does it may be buggy.

    Hi everyone-

    I just got a 7" SAMSUNG ANDROID 4.2.1 tablet.

SWYPE is not installed or shown as a keyboard option for my tablet.

The GOOGLE Play Store sells SWYPE for $1.99.

I got SWYPE for free installed on my Galaxy S2 phone.

Did GOOGLE stop offering SWYPE on the SAMSUNG tablets or is there any way I can get SWYPE for free on my tablet?

Is there another app that works like SWYPE but that DOES NOT record my keystrokes???

    Thanks to all!
