Using the proper tools, transferring contacts from an iPhone to an Android device can be a very easy task. Assuming that you find yourself in a situation where you wish to transfer your iPhone contacts to the HTC Desire 400, then you'll find this guide most useful. Using one of the four methods detailed below, you can easily perform a contact transfer from one phone to the other.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone to the Desire 400:

iTunes can be used to share your contacts from an iPhone to an Android device with ease. You need access to a computer with iTunes installed and an Internet connection, as well as the proprietary iPhone USB cable. (NOTE: if needed, you can download the iTunes client from the official Apple website)

    1. Launch iTunes on your PC and connect your iPhone to it via USB
    2. When connected, your iPhone should appear in iTunes. Click on the device to view the summary page
    3. Access the "Info" tab
    4. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
    5. Click "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
    6. Enter your Google account's login credentials, assuming that you haven't done so in iTunes before. Alternatively, click "Configure" and select an existing Google account
    7. Click "Apply". iTunes will now sync your iPhone contacts to your Google account
    8. On your Desire 400, register the same Google account if necessary. To do so, go to "Settings" > "Account"
    9. Allow the Google account to sync the contacts with your Android device

    Transferring Contacts Using iCloud:

iCloud is a service that you may have already used on your iPhone. If so, then the contacts might've already been backed up onto your iCloud account. You can use this backup in order to share the contacts with your Desire 400. To do so:

    1. Open the Internet browser on your PC and visit www.icloud.com
    2. Log in with your iCloud account
    3. Go to "Contacts" and select the ones that you wish to export
    4. Click the button depicting a cog wheel (located at the lower-left side)
    5. Select "Export vCard" in order to download a VCF file containing the contacts
    6. Once downloaded, import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Otherwise, connect your Desire 400 to your computer via USB, copy the VCF file to the "sdcard" directory, open the "People" app, access the "People" tab and then press "Menu" > "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts" and then import from storage

Transferring iPhone Contacts using the "My Contacts Backup" App:

If you don't have access to a computer, then you can still transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Desire 400 using applications. My Contacts Backup is one of these apps, allowing you to create and send a VCF file via email

    1. On your iPhone, go to the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup"
    2. You will now create a contact backup by opening the app and tapping "Backup"
    3. After the backup is done, tap "Email". This action will compose a new email containing the VCF file as an attachment
    4. Use your own Gmail address as a recipient, and send the email
    5. On your Desire 400, open the email containing the VCF file and download it in order to import the contacts

Using the "Bump" Application to Transfer Contacts:

Bump is a simply app that allows you to transfer contacts via cloud. You don't need access to a computer, but you do need an active Internet connection on both smartphones.

    1. Install "Bump" on your iPhone, from the App Store
    2. On the Android device, visit the Play Store and download "Bump"
    3. Open the application on both smartphones. If prompted, allow permissions
    4. On the iPhone, swipe the screen until you see the contacts section
    5. From the list, select the contacts that you wish to share
    6. Once the "Bump now!" message appears in the top-right corner, gently bump your two smartphones together
    7. A "Connect" button should appear on both smartphones. Tap it to send a copy of the selected contacts to the Desire 400
