    Agree, most likely GPS is still on which is used to calculate the car speed.

    Chances are that GPS is enabled on your BB9790.

    As a side note, keep in mind that GPS is a power hog on any smartphone, so unless you really need it, or unless you keep your smartphone plugged into the car charger, I suggest you turn off GPS. That way, you can really conserve the battery.

    1. To do so, click the "Options" icon while on the home screen
    2. Go to "Device" > "Location settings"
    3. Change the "Location Services" to "Off"
    4. Press the "BlackBerry" button and select "Save"

    Hi;

    I recently bought BB9790. I opened MAP with no internet connected, I found that here system was informing me the car speed while I did not activate any services from service provider. Is there any feature in device which calculates the speed without any other services?
