    Decreasing Screen Brightness and Adjusting Timeout Duration:

    1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Tap "Display" under "Device"
    4. Select "Brightness"
    5. Uncheck the "Automatic brightness" check box
    6. Drag the brightness slider to the left and set it to a lower level
    7. Tap "OK" to confirm
    8. In the "Display" menu, tap "Sleep"
    9. Select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

    Switching from a Live Wallpaper to a Static One:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Wallpaper"
    3. Select the preferred wallpaper option, excluding "Live Wallpapers"
    4. Browse through the wallpapers / images, select the desired one and tap "Set wallpaper". (NOTE: if you’ve picked a photo from the gallery or other sources, you might need to crop it before applying it)

    Disabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when Not in Use:

    Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can have a big impact on your phone's battery if left enabled when not in use. It's recommended that you keep these features off whenever possible.

    1. From any home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Press the "On / Off" switches associated with "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth", and set them to "OFF"

    Disabling GPS:

    GPS is one of the most battery demanding features on a smartphone. It's highly recommended that you keep this option disabled when not in use. To disable GPS:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "System Settings"
    3. Scroll down to "Personal" and select "Location services"
    4. Clear the boxes associated with "GSP satellites". NOTE: If you enable "Location & Google search", the device can use the network to approximate your location for apps such as "Google Maps"

    Stopping Unused Services and Applications:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Menu" > "System settings"
    2. Swipe down and tap "Apps" under "Device"
    3. Swipe left or right to access the "Running" tab
    4. Select the desired app or service
    5. Press the "Stop" button and confirm by pressing "OK" (if prompted)

    NOTE: some services cannot be stopped, meaning that the "Stop" button will not be available

    Disabling Vibration Notifications:

    1. Tap the "Menu" key from the home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Select "Sound" under "Device"
    4. Clear the "Vibrate when ringing" check box
    5. Swipe down and clear the check box associated with "Vibrate on touch"

    Changing how Sync Works on Your Accounts:

    Setting your phone so that it synchronizes less information (or less often) can increase its battery life. To do this:

    1. From the home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Scroll down to "Accounts" and select the desired account type
    4. Choose the account you wish to chance sync settings for
    5. Browse through the applications that sync data, and disable as many as possible by clearing the check boxes associated with them
