    Backing Up Data

    Backing Up Applications:

    1. Open the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
    2. Scroll down to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
    3. Mark the check box associated with "Backup my data"
    4. Tap "Backup account" and select a backup account. NOTE: if you need to set an account, tap "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions

    Backing Up Contacts:

    1. From the home screen, tap the "Phone" icon
    2. Tap the "Contacts" icon located in the top-left corner
    3. Press the "menu" icon located in the lower-right side of the screen
    4. Tap "Back up contacts"
    5. Perform one of the following sets of steps:
      • To back up contacts to the SIM card:
        1. Tap "SIM card"
        2. Select the desired contacts or tap "Mark All"
        3. Tap "Back up"
        4. When prompted, select either "Add contacts" or "Replace all contacts"
        5. Press "OK" to confirm (if prompted)
      • To back up on the SD card:
        1. Tap "SD card"
        2. Tap "OK"

    Backing up Media Files Using Your Smartphone:

    1. From the home screen, tap the "All apps" icon
    2. Scroll to and open "Settings"
    3. Swipe to and tap "Storage"
    4. Tap "Transfer data to SD card". Follow any additional prompts

    Backing up Media Files Using Your Computer:

    1. Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer
    2. When the Auto-Run window appears on the computer, click to open the device's folders
    3. Access the smartphone's "Internal storage"
    4. Navigate to where the desired media files are located and copy them
    5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on your computer's HDD
    6. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone. (click "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray > "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"

    Restoring Data

    Restoring Applications:

    1. From the home screen, tap the "All apps" icon
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Tap "Backup account" and select the desired account
    5. Mark the "Automatic restore" check box

    Restoring Contacts:

    1. Tap the "Phone" icon located on the home screen
    2. Touch the "Contacts" icon located in the top-left side
    3. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the lower-right area
    4. Tap "Import contacts" and perform one of the following:
      • To restore contacts from the SIM card: Tap each contact that you wish to import. Alternatively, tap "Import all"
      • To restore contacts from the SD card:
        1. Tap "SD card"
        2. Select the vCard file containing your contacts
        3. Tap "OK"

    Restoring Media Files from a Computer:

    1. Connect your smartphone to your computer via USB
    2. Navigate to where the media files are located on your computer
    3. Copy the desired files
    4. Navigate to your phone's "Internal storage"
    5. Paste the files in the desired folders on your smartphone
    6. After the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
    7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
    8. You can now disconnect your smartphone
