    Backing Up Applications:

    1. From any of the home screens, tap the "All Apps" icon
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset"
    4. To back up account data, various settings and Wi-Fi passwords to the Google servers, check "Back up my data"
    5. Mark the "Automatic restore" option to restore backed up settings and app data when re-installing your applications

    Backing Up Contacts to an Account:

    1. While on the home screen, tap "All Apps"
    2. Tap "Settings" > "Accounts"
    3. Select the account that you wish to sync the contacts with
    4. Tap the "Menu" icon depicting three vertical dots
    5. Tap "Sync now"

    Backing Up Media Files on a Computer:

    1. Use the USB cable to establish a connection between your phone and computer
    2. On your handset, tap "Media sync (MTP)"
    3. On your computer, navigate to your phone's internal storage
    4. Copy the desired files or folders
    5. Navigate to where you wish to back up the files on your computer and paste them
    6. Once finished, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
    7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" and confirm with "OK"
    8. You can now disconnect your smartphone from your PC

    Restoring App Data and Contacts:

    NOTE: Using the back up method described above, your application data and contacts will be automatically restored once you sign in with the Google account on which the data is backed up. Simply go to "Settings" > "Accounts" and add your account, and then enable syncing with your device.

    Restoring Media Files from a Computer:

    1. Establish a connection between your smartphone and computer via USB
    2. On your smartphone, tap select "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
    3. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to where your files are stored on the computer
    4. Copy the files, and navigate to your phone's storage
    5. Paste the files in the desired location / folders
    6. Once the transfer is complete, click "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray
    7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
    8. You can now disconnect your smartphone and access the restored content
