Screen Lock Settings

Enabling / Disabling Device Lock:

1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
2. Tap "Settings" and go to "My device"
3. Tap "Lock Screen" > "Screen lock"
4. Follow one of the sets of steps below:
   
   • To enable screen lock:
     
     1. Select the desired screen lock option, such as PIN, Face unlock etc.
     2. Type in a PIN / Password or draw your pattern
     3. Tap "OK" or "Continue"
     4. Enter the same PIN / Password etc, for confirmation
     5. Tap "OK" / "Continue"
   • To disable screen lock:
     
     1. Enter your current PIN / Password
     2. Tap "Continue" or "OK"
     3. Select "None"

Changing the Device Lock Password / PIN:

1. Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
2. Tap "Settings"
3. Tap the "My device" tab
4. Press "Lock screen" > "Screen lock"
5. Enter your current password or PIN
6. Select the desired lock method
7. Enter the new password or PIN and tap "OK" or "Continue"
8. Once again, enter the password or PIN for confirmation, and tap "Continue" / "OK"

SIM PIN Management

Enabling / Disabling SIM PIN:

1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
2. Tap "Settings" and go to "More"
3. Tap "Security" > "Set up SIM card lock"
4. Follow one of the steps below:
   
   • To enable SIM PIN:
     
     1. Mark the "Lock SIM card" check box
     2. Type in your SIM PIN and press "OK"
   • To disable the PIN:
     
     1. Clear the check box associated with "Lock SIM card"
     2. Enter your SIM PIN and tap "OK"

Changing the SIM PIN:

1. Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
2. Tap "Settings"
3. Access the "More" tab
4. Tap "Security" > "Set up SIM card lock"
5. Mark the check box next to "Lock SIM card", if necessary
6. Tap "Change SIM PIN"
7. Enter your current PIN and tap "OK"
8. Type in the new PIN and tap "OK"
9. Lastly, enter the PIN again for confirmation, and press "OK"

PUK Code Unlock

Assuming that you've entered your SIM PIN incorrectly several times in a row, your device will lock you from attempting again, as a security measure.

Associated errors:

• PIN code blocked. Enter PUK code:
• Enter PUK code
• SIM card locked. Emergency calls only. Please contact Customer Care

To unlock the SIM, you need to enter the PUK code. Follow the steps below:

1. Contact your carrier / provider's customer support service and request your PUK code
2. Where your device says "SIM card is PUK-Locked. Please contact Customer Care", tap "Emergency Call"
3. Type in the following: "**05*PUK*NEWPIN*NEWPIN#" without the quotation marks, and where "PUK" is the PUK code from customer service, and "NEWPIN" is the PIN that you want to assign
4. Tap "OK"
