WARNING! Master resetting a smartphone will result in loss of personal data stored on the phone's internal storage. This includes any downloaded content, images, personal ringtones, applications as well as contacts. Data that is stored on the SD card and SIM card will not be deleted.

Master Resetting Using the Settings Menu:

    1. If necessary, back up your personal data
    2. Press "Menu" from the home screen
    3. Tap "Settings" and go to the "Accounts" tab
    4. Tap "Backup and reset"
    5. Optionally, mark the check boxes next to "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"
    6. Tap "Factory data reset" > "Reset device"
    7. If your smartphone is PIN or password protected, enter it and tap "Continue"
    8. Press "Delete all" to confirm

    Master Resetting via Hardware Buttons:

NOTE: Use this method of factory reset if applying the reset through the settings menu can't be achieved, due to device freezing, crashing etc.

    1. If possible or necessary, back up your personal data
    2. Power off your smartphone
    3. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Power" and "Home" buttons at the same time
    4. After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" button but continue to press the other two keys
    5. As soon as the "Android System Recovery" screen appears, release the "Volume Up" and "Home" buttons
    6. From the recovery menu, press "Volume down" until you highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    7. Press the "Power" key to select the highlighted option
    8. Navigate to "delete all user data" using the volume rocker, and press "Power" to confirm
    9. Once the master reset is applied, the "Reboot system now" option will be highlighted
    10. Press the "Power" key to reboot your smartphone in normal mode
