finally solved it. Went to my Ipad and used what was there--only thing that changed was the port number. Used the one my phone suggested. Thanks

My email is with Mediacom High Speed Internet.com on my computer.
I just bought a Motorola Moto G phone thru Consumer cellular. After two one hour sessions with them, one call to AT&T and two calls to Mediacom still no success.

When using the phone set up system, the email app leads to a page with

    username

    password

    Server

    Port

    security type.

I checked my username and password with Mediacom, twice.

The Server comes up with ==pop.mchsi.com. Mediacom suggested I change this to mail.mediacombb.net- didn't work
POP3 is their pop --I tried that at first-no help

The Port number fills in with 110. Per Mediacom's suggestion I tried 995. No help

Security comes up with none, which is correct. I do not have a security set up other than my password. I haven't had to log on for 10 years.

One suggestions was to go out side to get a better signal. 3 bars. Have 1 and 2 inside. No help.

I have typed in username and password numerous times, being very careful to ensure all correct. Changed sever entry and port number as well. Signal always the same, couldn't open connection to server.
