    Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

    1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Tap the "Power saving mode" switch and set it to "ON". (A green switch means the feature is enabled)
    4. Tap "Power saving mode"
    5. Select the power saving features that you wish to be enabled when the mode is active, such as "Screen power saving", "CPU power saving", "Background color" etc.

    Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" > "Display" > "Brightness"
    3. If necessary, clear the check box associated with "Automatic brightness"
    4. Drag the brightness slider to the left, and set it to a lower level
    5. Tap "OK"
    6. Tap "Screen timeout" and select a lower setting, such as "15 seconds"

    Changing Your Wallpaper:

    NOTE: Live wallpapers can impact your smartphone's battery life quite heavily. It's always recommended that you use simple images as wallpapers, in order to maximize battery life.

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "Set wallpaper"
    3. Select "Home screen"
    4. Choose to pick your wallpaper from the "Gallery" or "Wallpaper"
    5. When selecting from the wallpaper list, navigate to the desired image and tap "Set wallpaper". When choosing from "Gallery", resize, crop and drag the image, and tap "Done"

    Disabling Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot:

    1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" > "More settings"
    3. Tap "Tethering & Mobile Hotspot"
    4. Press the switch associated with "Mobile Hotspot" and set it to "OFF" (grey color)
    5. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
    6. Tap the switches associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "GPS" to disable these features

    Disabling Background Data:

    1. While on a home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "Settings" > "Data usage"
    3. Press the "Menu" button
    4. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

    Changing the Application Sync Interval / Settings:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen, and tap "Settings"
    2. Select the desired account type, under "My accounts"
    3. Tap your "user name" or "email address" at the top of the screen, to adjust sync settings
    4. Clear the check boxes with the desired sync categories (such as "Sync Contacts") to disable sync
    5. You can also adjust the sync time interval for each available category

    Minimizing the Usage of Third Party Applications:

    1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "Settings" > "Application manager"
    3. Go to the "Downloaded" screen
    4. Select an application
    5. To turn off the app, tap "Disable". Alternatively, tap "Uninstall" if you want to completely remove the app, and press "OK" to confirm

    Updating to the Most Recent Software:

    NOTE: Following the steps below will not have any effect on your phone's battery performance, unless Samsung has released a new software update that fixes potential battery issues, or implements further battery optimizations.

    1. While on a home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "Settings" > "About device"
    3. Tap "Software update"
    4. If a new software update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
