Disabling Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and Wi-Fi Hotspot:

It's highly recommended that you disable all connectivity features when they're not in use. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS can have a great impact on your phone's battery life, if enabled when not really in use.

    1. While on a home screen, swipe the "Notification" bar down
    2. Tap the "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "Location" (GPS) icons to disable these features
    3. Tap the "Settings" icon located in the top-right corner

    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Select the account that you wish to edit, under "Accounts"
    4. Select the account name if necessary
    5. Clear the check boxes associated with the various options, to reduce automatic sync

    Disabling Background Data:

    1. Launch the "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "Data usage" under "Wireless & Networks"
    3. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner of the screen
    4. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

    1. Tap the "Applications" icon from the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
    5. Select the desired app and tap "Disable", or "Uninstall" if you wish to completely remove the app
    6. Tap "OK"

    Switching from 4G to WCDMA:

    1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "More" under "wireless & networks"
    3. Tap "Mobile networks" > "Network mode" > "WCDMA"

Applying the Most Recent Firmware Available:

NOTE: This trick gives results only if Sony has released a new software update that includes improvements to your phone's battery life. Otherwise, following the steps below will have no effect on your phone's battery performance.

    1. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "About phone" under "System"
    3. Tap "Software update" and follow the on-screen prompts if an update is available
