Very easy steps to transfer the contacts from iphone to nexes 5: First download the app IS contact kit from I tunes in the iphone. Using the app, export contacts and send it through a gmail used to sign in for Google account in nexes phone. Now in nexes phone open the mail and download the attached v card by using people app.

Don't know if you have tried a phone to phone transfer that can transfer contacts between different mobile phones.
You can search transphone on google, it's quite convenient.
You can also follow this tutorial.

The new Nexus 5 has started to hit the shelves, and assuming that you're among those who have purchased this beast, then you may find yourself in a situation where you'd like to transfer your iPhone contacts to your new Google toy. Don't know how to do it? Fret not, as below you'll find four easy methods of transferring contacts from an iPhone to the Nexus 5.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone to the Nexus 5:

    1. Launch iTunes on your computer. If necessary, visit the official Apple website and download the iTunes client
    2. After opening iTunes, connect your iPhone to your computer
    3. In iTunes, click your iPhone to view its summary page
    4. Go to the "Info" tab
    5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box, and from the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
    6. Enter your Google account and password if you haven't done so before. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" and select a previously set Google account
    7. Click "Apply" and wait for iTunes to sync the contacts
    8. On your Nexus 5, register the aforementioned Google account if you haven't done so already. (To add an account, access the "Settings" menu and tap "Accounts")
    9. Allow your Google account to sync the contacts with your Nexus 5

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

In case you've previously enabled iCloud on your iPhone, then your contacts should have already been backed up to your iCloud account. You can use this in order to export these contacts to your Nexus 5. To do so:

    1. On your computer's Internet browser, visit www.icloud.com
    2. Sign in with your iCloud account
    3. Click "Contacts"
    4. Select the contacts that you wish to export to the Nexus 5
    5. Tap the "Settings" icon located in the bottom-left corner, and select "Export vCard"
    6. After your computer downloads the VCF file containing the previously selected contacts, import the VCF file to Google Contacts, or:
    7. Connect your Nexus 5 to your computer using the USB cable. Copy the VCF file to your phone's "/sdcard" folder, open the "People" app on your smartphone, tap the "Menu" button and choose to import contacts from your phone

Using the "Bump" Application to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

NOTE: If you don't want to use your computer in order to transfer your iPhone contacts, you can use the Bump application to do so. Keep in mind that Bump makes use of cloud computing in order to perform the transfer, so an active Internet connection is required on both smartphones.

    1. Install the Bump app on your iPhone via the App Store
    2. On your Nexus 5, visit the Play Store and download Bump
    3. Open the app on both devices and allow permissions
    4. On the iPhone, swipe right to access the "Contacts" section
    5. In the list of contacts, select the ones that you wish to share
    6. Once the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can gently bump your two smartphones together
    7. Tap "Connect" and allow the gadgets to communicate
    8. A copy of the iPhone contacts should now be sent to your Nexus 5

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

My Contacts Backup is another application that allows you to easily transfer contacts by sending a vCard through an email.

    1. Visit the App Store on your iPhone and install the "My Contacts Backup" app
    2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
    3. After the backup is complete, tap "Email" to attach the VCF file to an email
    4. Enter your own Gmail address as the recipient, and send the email containing the VCF file
    5. On your Nexus 5, open the email containing the attachment and download the VCF file to import the contacts to your phone
