    Transferring Contacts using iTunes:

Aside from being a great music player and online store, iTunes is also a very useful tool with the help of which the user can sync contacts from an iPhone to a Google account. This allows you to easily transfer contacts from an iOS device over to your Android phone. NOTE: for this method you need a computer with iTunes installed and Internet access.

    1. Open iTunes on the computer
    2. Establish a connection between your iPhone and PC via USB
    3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to view the summary page
    4. Access the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
    5. From the drop-down list, select "Google Contacts"
    6. Enter your Google account's username and password if you haven't done so before. Otherwise, click "Configure" and select an existing account
    7. Click "Apply" to begin the syncing process
    8. Once the contacts are synced, register the same Google account on your Xperia M2, as the one used in iTunes. NOTE: to add an account go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
    9. Set the account so that it can sync contacts with your Xperia smartphone

    Transferring Contacts Using iCloud:

The iCloud backup service offers you the possibility to export backed up contacts from your account, in the form of a VCF file. In case you've used iCloud before, your iPhone contacts should already be backed up on your account. For this method you are required to have access to a computer with Internet.

    1. Launch the Internet browser on your PC and visit https://www.icloud.com/
    2. Log in with your iCloud account
    3. Click "Contacts"
    4. From the list, select the contacts that you want to share
    5. Click the button depicting a cog wheel (at the bottom-left) and select "Export vCard"
    6. Your computer will now download a VCF file containing the previously selected contacts
    7. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts", or connect the Sony Xperia M2 to your computer via USB and copy the file in the "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the "Phone" application, go to "Contacts" > "Menu" > "Import contacts" > "SD card". Select an account if necessary, load the VCF file and tap "OK"

Transferring Contacts via "My Contacts Backup":

Up until now we've discussed how you can transfer contacts through methods that require access to a computer. However, you can transfer your contacts without the need of a PC, by using various third party applications such as "My Contacts Backup". MCB can back up your contacts and transfer them to your Xperia M2 via email. To do so:

    1. Launch the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
    2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
    3. After the backup file is done, tap "email" to attach the file to a new email
    4. Send the email containing the vCard file to your own Gmail address
    5. On the Sony Xperia M2, open the email and download the file
    6. Import the vCard to your phonebook by opening the "Phone" app, going to "Contacts" and using the "Import from SD" function

    Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

"Send Anywhere" is an iOS and Android application that can be used to transfer various types of files and contacts from one phone / platform to another via a peer-2-peer connection. Thus, for this method you are not required to have access to a computer.

    1. Launch the Google Play Store on the Xperia M2 and install "Send Anywhere"
    2. From the App Store, install the same app on your iPhone
    3. Launch the application on both smartphones
    4. On the sender device (the iPhone), tap "Send" > "Contacts"
    5. Mark the contacts that you wish to share, and tap "Send"
    6. Next up, select the desired method of sharing. By tapping "Generate QR Code" your iPhone will show a code which can be scanned with the Sony Xperia M2's camera in order to begin the transfer process. Alternatively, you can tap "Receive" on the M2, and enter the transfer code from the iPhone
