Make sure there is enough free space for the sync. 1000 photos may take up to 2G+ storage.

How much space do those 10,000 photos take up? Are you also backing things up to iCloud?

When I attempt to synch my iPhone 5 to my PC, it indicates it's synching, but after reaching Step 5, which is transferring my over 10,000 photos, it never goes to Step 6. Even if left synching for 5 hours, it shows it's still synching. How long is a synch supposed to take? Should I just restore instead?
