    Hi Dusten,

Thanks for the reply. I searched for SD on the Internal Storage but it can up with 0 results.

However, I logged into to i.xiaomi.com and from there I was able to upload the VCF file directly to my contacts and they synched through xiaomi cloud to my phone.

Log into xiaomi. Click on the top right menu bar to change to English language if necessary. Then click on the 'Contacts' icon. You will see a white box with existing contacts listed, in the case of my new phone it was empty. in the bottom left corner click on the 'options' menu and then 'Import Contact's where you are allowed to browse for a file type to upload.

"You can import vCard files (*.vcf) from Gmail, Outlook, iOS's built-in Phone app, and other messaging apps. Take note! Different vendors use different vCard formats. As a result, some information may be lost when you import it."

I guess on your phone you need to go to the options page to make sure contacts are backed up to the cloud.

    Job Done!

    Hi Andy,

Even though the Mi3 doesn't have an SD card slot, there should still be a "sdcard" directory (folder) somewhere on the phone's storage. You should be able to find it by using the "search" function on your PC while viewing the Mi3's root directory. Otherwise, you can always transfer the VCF file on the internal storage as opposed to the SD card, and then use the "Import / Export" function followed by "Import from storage" (instead of importing from SD).

    Hope this helped!

"or alternatively, connect your Xiaomi to your PC via USB, and copy the file to the device's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the contacts app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card", select an account if necessary and choose the VCF file to load it"

but when I load my Mi 3 to my pc, I get a CD DRIVE (Xiaomi) and a MI3W listed. Under Mi3W, there are plenty of sub folders, but no SD CARD. Where should I put the VCF files to be able to find then on the phone and then directly import then into contacts?

    Thanks,
    Andy

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

iTunes is a great tool that offers tons of features, including the ability to sync your iPhone contacts with a Google account. This makes it easier for iPhone owners to transfer these contacts to an Android device, such as the Xiaomi MI-2a. For this method, you need access to a computer with iTunes installed, and the proprietary USB connector for your iPhone (and of course a Google account)

    1. Open iTunes on your PC
    2. Establish a connection between your iPhone and PC via USB
    3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to view its summary page
    4. Go to the "Info" tab, and check the "Sync Contacts With" check box
    5. From the drop-down list, choose "Google Contacts"
    6. Enter your Google account and password, assuming that you haven't done this before. Otherwise, you can click "Configure" and choose an existing Google account
    7. To begin the syncing process between your iPhone and the account, click "Apply"
    8. On your Xiaomi device, register the same Google account and allow it to sync the contacts with your smartphone. To add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

The iCloud backup service offers you the option to transfer backed up contacts onto your Android device, through a VCF file. If you've used the iCloud service before and you have an account, then you can do the following in order to transfer the contacts on your Xiaomi:

    1. On your computer, open the Internet browser and visit https://www.icloud.com/
    2. Log in with your iCloud account
    3. Click "Contacts" to view the list of contacts
    4. Select the ones that you want to share with your Android device
    5. Click the "Settings" icon located in the lower-left side of the screen, and select "Export vCard"
    6. A VCF file will now be downloaded on your computer
    7. Import the VCF file in "Google Contacts", or alternatively, connect your Xiaomi to your PC via USB, and copy the file to the device's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the contacts app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card", select an account if necessary and choose the VCF file to load it

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application:

Thanks to applications, it's not required to have access to a computer in order to transfer your contacts from an iPhone. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up your iPhone contacts and send them to your Android device via email.

    1. Open the App Store on your iPhone and download "My Contacts Backup"
    2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
    3. Once the backup file containing the contacts is created, tap "Email" in order to attach the file to a new email
    4. Enter your own Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
    5. Switch over to the Xiaomi, and open the email containing the attachment
    6. Download the VCF file and use the contacts application to import it in your phonebook

Using the "Bump" Application to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

Bump is a pretty unique app, in that it allows you to transfer your contacts using cloud connectivity. As such, there's no need for email addresses, access to a computer, Bluetooth or NFC. What you need however, is an active Internet connection on both smartphones.

    1. Visit the App Store and install "Bump" on your iPhone
    2. From the Google Play Store, install the same app on your Xiaomi MI-2a
    3. Launch the application on both devices, and allow permissions when prompted
    4. On the iPhone, access the contacts section and from the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to share
    5. When the "Bump Now!" label appears in the top-right corner, gently bump the two devices together
    6. If done right, a "Connect" button will appear on both smartphones' screens. Tap "Connect" and a copy of your iPhone contacts will now be transferred over to the Xiaomi
