    Installing HTC Sync Manager on Your Computer:

    1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
    2. Visit HTC Sync Manager
    3. Download the HSM client
    4. Launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the HTC Sync Manager installation on your computer

    Using HSM to Back Up Your Smartphone on the Computer:

    1. Connect the HTC One Mini 2 to your computer using the USB cable
    2. Wait for HSM to launch itself. It the program doesn't start, launch it manually
    3. From the HTC Sync Manager screen, click "Home" > "Transfer & Backup"
    4. Under "Backup and restore", choose whether or not the backup should include media content
    5. Select if you wish your phone to be backed up every time you connect it to your computer
    6. Click "Back up Now"
    7. You can apply a password to the backup file and click "OK"

    Restoring Data from a PC Using HTC Sync Manager:

    1. Connect the HTC One Mini 2 to your PC via USB
    2. Launch HTC Sync Manager if it doesn't open automatically
    3. Click "Home" > "Backup and restore"
    4. Choose a backup file to load
    5. Select whether or not you want to replace existing content with data located in the backup file
    6. Click "Restore now"
    7. Assuming that the file is protected by a password, enter it and click "OK"
    8. Once the confirmation message appears, click "OK"
    9. Open the notification panel on the smartphone (swipe the "Status" bar down) and tap the "Home screen restored" notification in order to apply the backed up home screen layout
