    Backing Up Applications:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "User and Backup" and tap "Backup and reset"
    4. Login with your Google account. If you need to add an account, tap "Backup account" > "Add account"
    5. If necessary, mark the check boxes associated with "Backup account" and "Backup my data"

    Backing Up Contacts

    Using a Samsung or Google Account to Back Up Contacts:

    1. While on the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
    2. Tap "Settings" and tap "Merge accounts"
    3. Select "Google" or "Samsung account"
    4. Tap "OK" to merge the contacts with the selected account

    Backing Up Contacts on the External Memory (SD Card):

    1. Ensure that the SD card is installed on your device
    2. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    3. Tap "Settings"
    4. Scroll to "Applications" and tap "Contacts"
    5. Tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
    6. Select "import / Export" and then tap "Export to SD card"
    7. Before tapping "OK", make sure you record the backup file's name for future use

    Media File Backup

    Backing Up Media Files on the Smartphone's Storage:

    1. Make sure the SD card is installed on your device
    2. Launch the apps drawer and tap "My Files"
    3. Scroll to "Local Storage"
    4. Tap "Device storage" and press the "menu" icon
    5. Tap "Select" from the drop-down menu, and navigate to the folders containing the desired media files. (NOTE: photos captured with the camera are found in the "DCIM" folder, other files are in "Downloads", "Ringtones" etc.)
    6. Mark the check boxes next to the file or folder that you wish to back up
    7. Tap "Menu" > "Copy" > "SD card"
    8. Navigate to where you want to copy the files and then tap "Paste here"

    Backing Up Media Files Using a Windows PC:

    1. Establish a connection between your SGS5 Sport and PC via USB
    2. On the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the check box next to "Media device (MTP)"
    4. From the AutoPlay window that will pop-up on the PC, click "Open device to view files"
    5. Open the "Phone" or "Card" drive from your smartphone, and locate the desired media files on your handset
    6. Copy the files that you wish to back up, and paste them on your computer's hard drive

    Backing Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: if you already have Samsung Kies installed on your Mac, you should skip the first 2 steps

    1. On your Mac, launch the Internet browser and navigate to Kies
    2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on the Mac
    3. Once installed, connect the Galaxy S5 Sport to the Mac via USB
    4. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
    5. If necessary, mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac
    7. Click the "Back up / Restore" tab in Kies
    8. Go to the "Backup" tab and mark the check box next to "Music" and "Photo"
    9. To back up all of your files, mark the check box next to "Select all items"
    10. When ready, click "Backup"
    11. Once the files have been backed up, you can safely disconnect the SGS5 Sport from the Mac
