WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will return it to the original factory settings, and it will delete all personal data stored on the internal memory. This includes downloaded content, contacts, apps, images, ringtones etc. Factory resetting your smartphone will not affect data stored on the SD and / or SIM cards

NOTE: Before proceeding, you can follow this link for a full guide on how to back up the data stored on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport. To learn how you can restore the data, click this link for a full guide.

Master Resetting via the Settings Menu:

    1. Make sure you've backed up the necessary data
    2. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
    3. Open "Settings"
    4. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Backup and reset"
    5. Optionally, clear the check box next to "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"
    6. Tap "Factory data reset" > "Reset device"
    7. Assuming that your phone is protected by a screen lock, enter the PIN or password
    8. Tap "OK" > "Delete all"

    Master Resetting via Hardware Keys:

NOTE: use this method of reset in case you are unable to reset your smartphone from the settings menu. Once again, create backups if necessary, as master resetting your device will result in the deletion of personal data.

    1. Turn off the smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Power", "Home" and "Volume Up" buttons at the same time
    3. Once the phone vibrates, release the "Power" key but keep holding the "Home" and "Volume Up" keys
    4. At the "Android System Recovery" screen, release all hardware keys
    5. From the Recovery menu, press "Volume down" several times to highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    6. Press the "Power" key to select the highlighted option
    7. Use the "Volume down" key to navigate to "Yes - delete all user data"
    8. Press "Power" to confirm
    9. Wait for your smartphone to reset, and the "Reboot system now" option should be highlighted
    10. Press "Power" one last time, to select the highlighted option and restart your smartphone
