    Inserting the SD Card:

    1. Make sure your smartphone is turned off
    2. Remove the back cover
    3. If this is necessary, insert a SIM card before inserting the SD memory card
    4. Insert the SD card in its slot. The card should fit if the contacts are facing downwards
    5. Refit the back cover and reboot your smartphone

    Checking the Amount of Free SD Card Space:

    1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Under "System", tap "Storage"
    4. Swipe to "SD card" and view the "Available space" value on-screen

    Changing the Default Memory Storage Location

    NOTE: by default, your Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is set to store data from most applications on the internal storage. You can change this setting so that the data is stored on the SD card instead, as explained below:

    Setting the Camera App to Utilize the SD Storage:

    1. From the home screen, tap the "Camera" app (if it's missing, you can find it in the apps drawer)
    2. Tap the "Settings" icon depicting a cog wheel
    3. Tap "Storage"
    4. Tap "Memory Card" and you're all set

    Changing the Storage Location for the Voice Recorder App:

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Voice recorder"
    3. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Storage"
    4. Tap "Memory Card"

    Changing the Default Storage Location for the "Internet" App:

    1. Launch the apps drawer
    2. Tap "Internet"
    3. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings"
    4. Swipe to "Advanced" and tap "Content settings"
    5. Tap "Default storage" and select "SD card"

    Changing the Storage Location for DLNA (Nearby Devices):

    1. From the home screen tap "Apps"
    2. Access the "Settings" menu
    3. Under "Connect and Share", tap "Nearby Devices"
    4. Set the switch next to "Nearby Devices" to "ON"
    5. Tap "Download to" and then touch "SD card"

    Opening or Deleting Files Located on the SD Card

    Deleting Files Using the Smartphone:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Tap "My Files"
    3. Tap "Local storage" > "SD card"
    4. Touch "SD memory card"
    5. Press the "Menu" icon located in the upper-right corner
    6. Tap "Select" and mark the check boxes associated with the content type that you wish to remove
    7. Mark the check boxes next to the files and / or folders that you want to remove
    8. Tap "Done" and press "OK" to confirm

    Opening or Deleting Files Stored on the SD Card Using a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and your computer
    2. From the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "USB connected" > "Connect USB storage"
    4. Double-click "Open folder to view files" from the AutoPlay window on the computer
    5. The "Card" icon is associated with the phone's SD storage. Open it
    6. Navigate to where the desired files are located
    7. View or delete the desired files. When ready, tap "Disconnect storage from PC" and safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

    Opening or Deleting Files on the SD Card Using a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps in case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac

    1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac and go to Kies
    2. From the webpage, click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation process
    3. Connect the SGS5 Mini to the computer via USB
    4. On the Galaxy S5 mini, drag the "Status" bar down using two fingers
    5. Tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac, and wait for your smartphone to pop-up under "Connected devices"
    7. In Kies, navigate to the desired files stored on the SGS5 Mini. You can easily navigate the device by clicking the "Folder" icon next to "External memory"
    8. To open a file, double-click it. To remove a file, mark its check box and click the "Trash Can" icon, followed by "OK"
    9. Once the process is complete, click the "Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini" disk drive on the Mac's desktop, and safely disconnect your smartphone

    Transferring Files From / To the SD Card

    Transferring Files from the SD Card to the Internal Memory:

    1. Launch the apps drawer and open "My Files"
    2. Swipe to "Local storage" and go to "SD card"
    3. Tap "SD memory card" to access the card
    4. Navigate to the desired files / folders
    5. Mark the check boxes associated with the files / folders that you wish to transfer
    6. Press "Menu" and tap "Move" or "Copy"
    7. Tap "Device storage" and go to the location where you wish to move / copy the file
    8. Tap "Move here" or "Paste here"

    Transferring Files from the Internal Storage to the External Memory (SD):

    1. Launch the "My Files" application
    2. Swipe to "Local storage" and tap "Device storage"
    3. Locate the desired files files stored on the internal memory
    4. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired files or folders
    5. Press "Menu" and tap "Move" or "Copy"
    6. Tap "SD memory card" and go to the location where you wish to transfer the files
    7. Tap "Move here" or "Paste here", depending on your initial choice
