Clearing an App's Cache or Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications isn't working correctly, then you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the app's cache or data. Clearing the app's cache can fix various issues with an app, without removing personal data stored within it.

WARNING! Clearing the app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored in the application, including credit card information, log in details, settings, saved games, high scores etc. Clear the data only if clearing the cache fails to deliver results

    1. While viewing the home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "System settings" and go to "General"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Apps" and swipe to the "All" screen
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap "Clear cache"
    6. If this step hasn't helped, tap "Clear data" too, and press "OK" to confirm

    Wiping the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your smartphone isn't working as intended and you plan on master resetting your smartphone, then you might want to clear the phone's cache partition first. By doing so, you might be able to fix the issues without losing personal data stored on the device. To wipe the phone's cache partition:

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings" and swipe to the "General" tab
    3. Tap "Storage" and wait for your device to finish calculating the data
    4. Tap "Cached data" and press "OK"
    5. Wait for the cache partition to be cleared. Depending on the amount of information being processed, this may take a few seconds or more
    6. Once the cache partition has been wiped, no cached data should be displayed

NOTE: In case clearing the cache hasn't solved the issues, then you might want to visit this link for a full guide on how to apply a master reset.

Entering Safe Mode to Remove Apps:

NOTE: If you've installed an application that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it while it runs processes in the background, then you can easily remove the app by first rebooting your device in safe mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled. To enter safe mode and uninstall an app:

    1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Power" key
    2. At the prompt, tap and hold "Power off"
    3. In the "Reboot to safe mode" prompt, tap "OK" to confirm
    4. Wait for your device to reboot in safe mode. Once done, a "Safe Mode" label should be displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen
    5. To uninstall an app, press "Menu" while on the home screen
    6. Go to "Settings" and access the "General" tab if necessary
    7. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    8. Access the "All" screen
    9. Select the app you wish to remove
    10. Tap "Uninstall" and press "OK"
    11. To exit safe mode, press and hold "Power", then tap "Power off and restart"
    12. Tap "OK" to confirm and wait for your device to reboot
