WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will delete all personal data stored on the phone's internal memory. This includes custom ringtones, applications, downloaded content, images, contacts and more. Data stored on the SD and SIM cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before proceeding with the reset, you may want to back up the data stored on your device. To learn how you can back up your data, visit this thread. To learn how you can restore data, check out this thread.

    Master Reset via Settings Menu:

    1. While viewing a home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "General" and tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Mark the "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" check boxes
    5. If necessary, tap "Backup account" and follow the on-screen steps in order to create a Google backup account
    6. Tap "Factory data reset"
    7. Review the warning message and then mark or clear the "Erase SD card" check box. WARNING! Enabling this option will format the SD card / external storage, resulting in the deletion of all data stored on it
    8. Tap "Reset phone" when ready
    9. To confirm, tap "Erase everything" and press "OK"

    Master Reset via Hardware Keys:

NOTE: If your smartphone crashes, freezes or otherwise prevents you from master resetting it via the settings menu, you can still apply the reset via a combination of hardware keys which will give access to the recovery menu. Keep in mind that your data will be deleted after the process is complete, regardless of the reset method used

    1. Turn off the LG G3 Vigor
    2. Press and hold the "Volume down" and "Power" buttons at the same time
    3. At the "LG" splash screen, release the "Power" button and re-hold it immediately. Ensure that the "volume down" button is pressed the whole time
    4. When the "Factory data reset" screen appears, release the hardware buttons
    5. Press "Volume down" to navigate to, and highlight "Yes"
    6. Press "Power" to confirm the highlighted option
    7. The "Erase all user data and restore default settings" screen should appear
    8. Press "Volume down" to highlight "Yes", and press "Power" to confirm
    9. The smartphone will now restart. Wait for the process to complete

    Update the Android OS:

NOTE: After you master reset your smartphone, all the previously applied software updates will be deleted too. As such, it's recommended that you update your smartphone's software immediately after applying the factory reset. To do so:

    1. Make sure that your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
    2. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    3. Go to "Settings"
    4. Swipe to "System" and tap "About phone"
    5. Tap "Update center" and then tap "System updates"
    6. Tap "Check now". If updates are available for download, follow the on-screen instructions to apply them on your phone
