Power Saving Mode and Display Settings

    Enabling Power Saver Mode:

The HTC Power Saver Mode can help you squeeze more "juice" from your phone's battery, by lowering the screen brightness, limiting the CPU performance and more, once the battery reaches "yellow" levels. To enable this mode:

    1. Swipe the "status" bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the "" icon associated with "Power Saver Mode"
    3. Clear or mark the check boxes associated with the feature that you wish to be enabled / disabled during Power Saver Mode
    4. Tap the "Power Saver Mode" tile to enable the feature

    Adjusting the Screen Brightness:

    1. From the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Tap "Display, gestures & buttons" under "Phone"
    4. Tap "Brightness" and clear the "Automatic brightness" chec box
    5. Drag the "Brightness" slider to the left and set it to a lower value

    Adjusting the Screen Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers, while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap the "Settings" tile
    3. Under "Phone", tap "Display, gestures & buttons"
    4. Tap "Sleep" and select a lower setting, such as "15 seconds"

    Disabling Your Live Wallpaper:

NOTE: live wallpapers can have a very negative effect on your phone's battery life, so it's highly recommended that you use a static image as your wallpaper instead. To do so:

    1. From the home screen, drag the "Status" bar down with two fingers
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Under "Personal", tap "Personalize"
    4. Select "Wallpaper" and choose either "Gallery" or "HTC Wallpapers"
    5. Select the desired image and then tap "Accept" or "Done". If you're picking an image from the gallery, you'll need to crop and resize it before setting it as your wallpaper

Disabling Touch Sounds and Haptic Feedback:

    1. Tap the "Applications" icon from the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "Phone" and tap "Sound"
    4. Clear the check boxes next to "Touch sounds", "Vibrate" and "Vibrate on touch"

Dimming the Display While Loading Webpages:

NOTE: you can set your default HTC Internet browser to dim the display when loading pages, thus saving battery life in the process. To do so:

    1. Launch the HTC "Internet" app
    2. Tap the "Menu" icon
    3. Go to "Settings" > "Accessibility"
    4. Mark the check box associated with "Dim screen during page loading"

    Connectivity Settings

NOTE: it's highly recommended to disable all connectivity features when not in use, especially GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

    Disabling GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Locations"
    3. Clear the "Location sources" check box to disable GPS
    4. To disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, return to the home screen
    5. Swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers
    6. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" tiles to disable these features

    Enabling Sleep Mode:

NOTE: when sleep mode is active, all data connections on your device are disabled after a period of time of inactivity. This can tremendously conserve battery life. Keep in mind that all data connections will be automatically re-enabled once the phone is out of sleep mode. To activate Sleep Mode:

    1. From the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Tap "Power" under "Phone"
    4. Tap the "Sleep mode" option to enable the feature

    Application Management

NOTE: It's recommended that you disable or uninstall third party applications that you don't use. Even when not active, certain apps can run services in the background, and this can have an impact on your phone's battery life. To disable or uninstall an app:

    1. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "Apps"
    3. Go to the "All" tab
    4. Select the desired application and tap "Disable"
    5. To completely remove the app, tap the desired app and select "Uninstall"

Keeping Your Apps Up to Date:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
    2. Launch the "Play Store"
    3. Access the "My apps" section
    4. Go to the "Installed" tab and select the desired application to update it. Alternatively, you can tap "Update all"

    Changing Sync Settings

Changing Sync Time for Email Accounts:

    1. Launch the "Mail" application from the home screen or the apps drawer
    2. Select the desired account
    3. Press "Menu" > "Settings" > "Sync, Send & Receive"
    4. Adjust the desired sync settings under "Sync schedule"

    Disabling Data Sync:

    1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "Accounts & Sync"
    3. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options that you wish to disable

Changing the Sync Settings for the Weather App:

NOTE: it's recommended that you disable weather sync for locations that you don't have an interest in or don't visit. This will allow your phone to sync less data, thus it will increase the battery performance.

    1. From the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Open the "Weather" app
    3. Press the "Menu" button
    4. Tap "Edit" and remove the desired locations
