    Enabling and Setting Battery Saving Mode:

    1. While viewing the home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "My device" tab
    3. Tap the "Power saving mode" switch and set it to "ON"
    4. Tap "Power saving mode" and mark or clear the check boxes associated with the battery saving mode features you wish to enable or disable

    Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Access the "My device" tab
    4. Tap "Display" > "Brightness"
    5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to set a lower level
    6. Tap "OK"
    7. Go to "Screen timeout" and select a lower value

    Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth:

    NOTE: A phone's connectivity features can have a big impact on battery life, so it's advised to disable them whenever they are not in use. To do so:

    1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "Connections" tab
    3. Tap "More networks" > "Tethering & Mobile Hotspot"
    4. Tap the "Mobile Hotspot" switch to turn it "OFF"
    5. Return to the home screen and drag the "Status" bar down
    6. Tap the icons associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "GPS" to disable these features

    Change the Sync Settings for Apps:

    1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "Accounts" tab
    3. Under "My accounts", select the desired account type
    4. Adjust the available sync settings for the account type
    5. For more sync settings, tap your "email address" or "user name" at the top of the screen

    Disabling Background Data:

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "Connections" tab
    3. Tap "Data usage" and press "Menu"
    4. Check the "Restrict background data" check box

    Minimizing the Use of Third Party Applications:

    NOTE: Even though you might not use certain third party apps that are installed on your phone, some of these apps can still affect your phone's battery performance if they sync or run processes in the background. You may want to remove or disable these applications:

    1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "More" tab
    3. Tap "Application manager"
    4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen and tap the desired application
    5. Tap "Disable" to turn off the application. To completely remove it, tap "Uninstall" > "OK"

    Keeping Your Smartphone Up to Date:

    NOTE: Smartphone manufacturers sometime release new software updates that can contain fixes and / or improvements to battery life. As such, it's recommended that you keep your smartphone up to date

    1. While on the home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "Settings" and access the "More" tab
    3. Tap "About device" > "Software update"
    4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it on your phone
