Clear an App's Cache or Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications isn't working as intended, then you may be able to fix these problems by clearing the app's cache and / or data. WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including saved games, user profiles, credit card and account information etc. It's recommended to clear the cache first, before deciding if wiping the data is necessary.

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "Applications"
    4. Tap "Application manager" and swipe to the "Downloaded" or "All" screen
    5. Select the desired app and tap "Clear cache"
    6. If wiping the cache hasn't solved the problem, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

    Wiping the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your smartphone doesn't work as intended, it freezes, crashes or causing other problems, then you might already consider factory resetting it. However, you should know that clearing the phone's cache can solve a number of problems a factory reset would, without actually losing personal data stored on the internal memory. To wipe the phone's cache:

    1. Turn off the smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" buttons simultaneously
    3. After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" button but keep pressing the other two keys
    4. At the "Android System Recovery" screen, release all hardware buttons
    5. From the recovery menu, press "Volume Down" to navigate the list and highlight "wipe cache partition"
    6. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option
    7. After the cache partition has been wiped, "Reboot system now" should be highlighted
    8. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option and reboot your device

NOTE: If wiping the phone's cache hasn't solved the problems on your phone, you can visit the following link to learn how to master reset the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2.

Entering Safe Mode and Removing Applications:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes issues on your phone and prevents you from removing it, then you can reboot your phone in Safe Mode and remove the app from there. In safe mode, all third party apps are disabled. To enter safe mode:

    1. Turn off your smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Power" button
    3. At the "Samsung" splash screen, release the "Power" button and immediately press and hold the "Volume down" button instead
    4. Keep holding the volume key until the phone finishes rebooting. Once fully restarted, a "Safe mode" message should be displayed at the lower-left side of the screen
    5. To remove an app, tap "Apps" from the home screen
    6. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Applications"
    7. Tap "Application manager"
    8. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen if necessary
    9. Select the desired app and press "Uninstall"
    10. Tap "OK" to confirm
    11. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold the "Power" button and tap "Restart"
