    Using a Google Account:

NOTE: Using your Google account on the Samsung Galaxy SIII, you can sync the contacts stored on your phone, and then re-sync them from the account with the Galaxy A5.

    1. Register your Google account on the Samsung Galaxy SIII, if necessary
    2. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    3. Tap "Settings" > "My accounts" and select "Google"
    4. Tap your "email address" or "user name" at the top of the screen
    5. Mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts", and then tap "Sync now"
    6. On the Galaxy A5, register the same account
    7. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu and tap "User and Backup"
    8. Tap "Accounts", press "Menu" > "Sync all"

    Using the "Contacts" Application:

NOTE: You can use the proprietary Contacts app from Samsung to back up and transfer the contacts stored on your SGSIII. The backup file can then be transferred to the Samsung Galaxy A5, either via email or by using a computer.

    1. On the SGSIII, launch the "Contacts" app
    2. Tap the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
    3. Tap "Contacts to display" and select "All contacts"
    4. Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
    5. Choose to "Export to SD card", and make sure you record the backup file's name before creating it, for future use
    6. Once the backup file is created, launch the email client and start composing an email
    7. Attach the VCF file to the email and send it to your own address
    8. On the Galaxy A5, open the email and download the attached vCard file
    9. Launch the "Contacts" app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
    10. Tap "Import from SD card" / "Import from storage", depending on where the VCF file was downloaded
    11. Locate the file, select it and import its contents

NOTE: you can also transfer the VCF file from the Galaxy SIII by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB, and manually copy-pasting the file to the Galaxy A5's storage. Then, import the file's contents using the "Contacts" app as described above.

    Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Another method of contact transfer relies on third party applications such as "Send Anywhere" This is an app that can transfer contacts and other types of files via a P2P connection, cross platform, without needing access to a computer. To use this method:

    1. Launch the Google Play Store app on both Samsung devices and install "Send Anywhere"
    2. Open the application on both smartphones
    3. On the SGSIII, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
    4. Select the contacts you want to transfer and tap "Send"
    5. Choose the desired method of transfer. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the SGSIII and scan the code with the A5's camera to begin the transfer process. You can also tap "Receive" on the Galaxy A5, and manually enter the randomly generated transfer code from the SIII
