    NOTE: Using HTC Backup you can create daily backups in Google Drive.

    Back Up the HTC Desire 826 to Google Drive:

    1. Drag the "Status" bar down and go to "Settings"
    2. Tap "Backup & reset"
    3. Tap "Backup account" > "HTC Account"
    4. Sign in with your HTC account. You can also use a Google or Facebook account
    5. Tap "Google Drive" in the "Cloud Storage" screen and then tap "OK"
    6. Sign in with your Google account for Drive access
    7. To set auto backup on, tap the "Automatic backup" switch "ON"
    8. To back up data manually, tap "Back up now"
    9. Optional: to set automatically daily backups via Wi-Fi go to the phone's "Settings", tap "Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi"

    Restore Data from Google Drive after a Factory Reset:

    1. After a fresh reset, reboot your phone and tap "Restore from HTC backup"
    2. Sign in with the desired account containing the backup
    3. Access the history menu and select the desired backup
    4. Tap "Next" and log in with your Google account
    5. Allow HTC Backup to connect to Google Drive
    6. Once the files are restored, tap "Next"

    Create Local Backups / Restore from Local Backup

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Tap "Phone" and access the "People" tab
    2. Press "Menu" and tap "Manage contacts"
    3. Tap "Import /Export contacts" >"Export to SD Card"
    4. Tap "Export to phone storage"
    5. Select the account type you want to use
    6. Tap "Yes" if you want to set a password
    7. Press "OK" to confirm and create the backup file

    Restore Contacts:

    1. Launch "People"
    2. Press "Menu" > "Manage contacts"
    3. Tap "Import / Export contacts"
    4. Choose to "import from phone storage" or "Import from SD card". You should choose the location of the backup file
    5. If needed, select an account
    6. Select the backup file and tap "OK"
    7. In case your phone is protected by a password, enter the security credentials and tap "OK"

    Back Up Messages:

    1. Launch "Messages"
    2. Press "Menu" and tap "Backup / Restore SMS"
    3. Tap "Back up" > "Back up SMS"
    4. Optional: set a password for the back up file
    5. Enter the desired name for the file and tap "OK"

    Back Up Text Messages via Email:

    1. Open "Messages"
    2. Press "Menu" and tap "Back up / Restore SMS"
    3. Tap "Back up" > "Back up SMS via email"
    4. Either enter a password for the file, or tap "Do not password protect this backup"
    5. Enter the desired email address and send the email containing the backup file

    NOTE: to restore messages, download the file from the email on your phone and import it using the "Messages" application

    Back Up / Restore Tasks:

    1. Launch "Tasks"
    2. Press "Menu" from the list of tasks
    3. Tap "Import / Export"
    4. Tap "Export to SD card"

    1. To restore tasks, launch "Tasks"
    2. Tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"

    Back Up the Dictionary:

    1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "Language & keyboard"
    3. Tap "HTC Sense Input" > "Personal dictionary"
    4. Press "Menu" and tap "Back up to storage"
    5. Tap "Back up to email" and then "OK"

    Restore a Dictionary:

    1. Tap "Languages & Keyboards" from the "Settings" menu
    2. Tap "HTC Sense Input" > "Personal dictionary"
    3. Tap "menu" > "Restore from storage" > "OK"
