This LG Unify phone is on the Virgin Custom plan, and I have spent three hours trying to set up my email and data.

Have read the manual, and tried to do it correctly, but none of my emails go, and nothing comes in.

Why is Android so hellishly complicated compared with Mac OS?

Before I chuck this into the garbage with $50 still on it, perhaps some kind soul could walk me through the email setup process.
