NOTE: If your phone doesn’t work as intended, it crashes, freezes etc. then you might be able to fix this behavior by applying a factory reset.

WARNING! Master resetting the phone will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the internal memory, including contacts, downloaded content, ringtones, media files and so on. Before proceeding you can learn how you can back up and restore your data by following this link.

NOTE: Before a master reset, you should disable the Anti-theft feature. Follow the same link above to learn how.

    Master Reset via Settings:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap Backup & reset and then swipe to “Personal data”
    4. Tap “Factory data reset” > “Reset phone”
    5. Tap “Erase everything” to confirm

Master Reset Using Hardware Keys (Recovery Menu):

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone using the method above, then you might want to try a factory reset via the Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses. Before proceeding you should try disabling the Anti-theft feature.

    1. Turn off the smartphone
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume up” at the same time
    3. When the “Alcatel” logo appears release “Power” but keep holding “Volume Up”
    4. At the “Android system recovery screen” release “Volume Up” too
    5. Use “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “wipe data / factory reset”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes – delete all user data”
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Make sure “Reboot system now” is highlighted and press “Power”
    10. Wait for your phone to reboot

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset you might want to perform a manual search for system updates. To do so, simply:

    1. Tap “Apps” from the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings” > “About phone”
    3. Tap “Check now” and in case a new update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
