Change the Sync Settings for Applications:

NOTE: Setting your apps to sync less data / less often can improve your phone’s battery performance on the long run. To do so:

    1. Tap “Apps” and go to “Settings”
    2. Under “Personal” tap “Accounts & Sync”
    3. Clear the check box associated with “Auto-sync data”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can affect your phone’s battery life even when you don’t use them. This is because certain apps can still run processes in the background. As such, to maximize battery life, you should consider disabling or removing rarely, or never-used third party apps.

    1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Access the “General” tab
    3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management”

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Tap “Phone management” > “About phone”
