    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. From the home screen press “Menu” and tap “Settings”
    2. Access the “My device” tab
    3. Tap the switch next to “Power saving mode” and set it to “ON”
    4. Tap “Power saving mode” to customize how the mode works

    Adjust Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. From the “My device” tab tap “Brightness”
    3. Clear the check box next to “Automatic brightness”
    4. Drag the slider towards the left-hand side of the screen and tap “OK”
    5. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot:

    NOTE: You can increase your phone’s battery performance by disabling all of the connectivity features whenever they are not in use, including Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Hotspot.

    1. Press “Menu” > “Settings” on the home screen
    2. Under the “Connections” tab tap “More networks”
    3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”
    4. Set the “Mobile Hotspot” switch to “OFF”
    5. Return to the home screen and drag the “status” bar down
    6. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and “GPS” tiles to disable these features

    Change the Sync Settings for Apps:

    NOTE: You can prolong your phone’s battery life by setting your accounts / apps to sync less dataor less often. To do so:

    1. Press “Menu” while viewing the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Under “Accounts”, tap “My accounts” and select the desired account type
    4. Set the available options, and tap your “email address” or “user name” at the top of the screen to access additional sync settings

    Minimize the Use of 3rd Party Apps:

    NOTE: Certain applications can still affect your phone’s battery performance even if you don’t, or very rarely use them. This is because some applications can run processes in the background. To disable or remove rarely-used third party apps:

    1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “More” > “Application manager”
    3. Swipe to the “Downloaded” screen
    4. Select the desired application and tap “Disable”
    5. Alternatively tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to completely remove the selected app

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Press “Menu” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Access “Connections” and tap “Data usage”
    4. Press “Menu”
    5. Check the “Restrict background data” check box

    Keep Your Phone Up to Date:

    NOTE: Software updates can sometimes include battery life improvements so it’s recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check if new software updates are available:

    1. Press “Menu” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings” and tap the “More” tab
    3. Tap “About device” > “Software update”
    4. Tap “Check now” and if a new update is available then follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it
