    Back Up Applications:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Tap “Settings” and swipe to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Backup and reset”
    4. If necessary sign in with your Google account. Tap “Backup account” > “Add account”
    5. Tick the check boxes associated with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”

    Restore Application Data:

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
    3. Sign in with the Google account used for the backup
    4. Check the “Automatic restore” option

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Swipe to “Accounts” and tap “Google”
    4. Select the account and tick the check boxes next to the contacts you want to back up

    NOTE: Your contacts will be automatically restored upon the next time you sign in with your Google account

    Back Up Media Files Using a Google Account:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Launch “Photos”
    3. Select a Google account or if necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Add account”
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup”
    5. Enable the “Auto Backup” feature
      • You can change your “Backup storage” preferences for “Photo size”
      • You can change “Backup settings” to select a preferred network type and so on
    6. Tap “Back up all” when ready to perform the backup

    NOTE: Media files can be automatically restored upon the next time you sign into your Google account

    Enable Android Anti-Theft:

    NOTE: When enabling Android Anti-Theft users will be required to enter a Google password even when trying to perform a factory reset. This security feature helps protect your data in case you lose your device. To enable Anti-Theft:

    1. Open the Apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Security” > “Protect your phone”
    4. Tap “Activate” and sign in with your Google account
    5. If necessary, set up a password / screen lock option

    To Disable Anti-Theft:

    1. Access “Security” from “Settings”
    2. Tap “Protect your phone”
    3. Tap “Deactivate” and enter your PIN / password
    4. Tap “Next” > “OK”
